Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square

Booked a weekend getaway before a work trip and it was my first time staying here. Wonderful stay, fantastic service and overall lovely hotel. Breakfast is a 5 star experience. Service throughout our stay has been top notch. They have really gone above an beyond to make our stay a wonderful experience. Thank you.

This place is incredible! The service, location, etc. The lack of amenities, however, did not impress me. For a 5-star hotel, there is only a very small gym in the basement of the facility, and none of the equipment is functional. Quite disappointing given the price point prestige of All Accor. But, as a business hotel, it does its job incredibly well. Breakfast is delicious, and the food / drinks impeccable.

** My stay was booked via Chase Travel apart of The Edit Collection**. So my stay at this beautiful hotel was definitely something I was totally not expecting. As a loyal chain hotel guy. I took full advantage of Chase’s programming, and I was extremely skeptical as I never book hotels this way. I was BLOWN away with the kind front desk staff, and how spacious, and comfortable my room was. Not to mention one of the best gyms I’ve ever seen. Our stay included dinner, and breakfast, and while it was expensive. It was delicious as well. You are only a few steps from the White House fortress grounds. Overall a solid experience. I would also add that the hotel is extremely personal. A really nasty winter storm ruined my travel plans, and they were completely understanding, and offered to refund a night of my stay.

Great location and service. They let us check in to the room super early because of our All Accor membership, which was a wonderful surprise. Nice interior design and very comfortable bathroom. The coffee machine in the room was good plus too. Our room did have a fridge but no microwave, so it may be a good idea to request ahead if you need any of them.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel during our DC trip. The room was clean, comfortable, and very quiet. The service was consistently great throughout our stay, with small touches that were appreciated like complimentary water bottles and a coffee/tea service in the morning. The restaurant in the hotel was great, we enjoyed breakfast and dinner there. The location is super convenient, walking distance from the mall, museums, and monuments. Overall I would highly recommend the Sofitel for DC travels!

I had a wonderful stay throughout my visit. The room was clean and well-maintained, and everything was satisfactory except for the slightly weak shower pressure. On the third day of my stay, housekeeping came by and the single sofa had been replaced— the original one had worn leather. I appreciated seeing that the property is consistently maintained. I would also like to thank the male front desk staff member who welcomed me warmly at check-in. I was a bit flustered due to an issue with my card payment, but he was patient, polite, and very kind. Thanks to him, my first impression of Washington was wonderful. The location was excellent—close to everything yet on a quiet street, making it easy to rest. And housekeeping starts around 9 a.m., so guests who plan to get ready later may want to hang the “Do Not Disturb” sign in advance. If I return to Washington, I would gladly stay here again.

The gentleman at the front desk not only checked me in with genuine friendliness but also personally assisted with my bags, placing them neatly on the luggage rack in my room—a small gesture that set the tone for the stay. When I asked for a microwave, mini fridge, and extra blanket, each item was delivered promptly to my room. • Every staff member I encountered was consistently helpful, professional, and welcoming, creating an atmosphere of ease and comfort. Room Features The room itself was thoughtfully equipped with modern and luxurious touches: • Google Chromecast on the television for easy streaming • A Bose speaker for high-quality sound • Elegant French toiletries that added a touch of Parisian flair • A supremely comfortable bed • Convenient power cords on the nightstand • Cleverly hidden storage spaces for a clutter-free stay • A distinctive wooden door key that felt like an upgraded, stylish detail Hotel Features • The elevators were efficient and always available, eliminating any wait time. • The hotel’s art collection, particularly the First Lady portraits, was a striking and fitting tribute to its D.C. location, adding cultural depth to the property. Location The location is unbeatable. Nestled in the heart of Washington D.C., it offers easy walking access to countless restaurants, coffee shops, and major attractions. Whether exploring the city or simply enjoying the neighborhood, everything feels close at hand.

Sofitel Washington is truly one of the beautiful hotels in Washington, offering a perfect sense of calm and elegance. The choice of colors, the refined décor, the beauty of the restaurant, and the excellent location all make the experience exceptional. As a Platinum member of one of the major hotel groups, I still prefer staying at this hotel whenever I visit Washington in the future. This was my first experience here, and it exceeded all my expectations. It will definitely be my first choice going forward.
